Dr. Daniel Höhmann
Welcome! I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Political Science at the University of Basel, Switzerland.
My research focuses on representation and legislative studies. Particularly, I analyze the substantive representation of women in parliaments and what role male legislators play in this regard. Moreover, I am interested in coalition governance. I examine different mechanisms how governing parties can keep tabs on each other.
I received my Ph.D. from the University of Bamberg, Germany in 2021 and hold a M.A. and B.A. from the University of Konstanz, Germany.
My work has been published, among others, in the Journal of Politics, European Journal of Political Research, Political Research Quarterly, West European Politics, Party Politics, Public Choice, Parliamentary Affairs, and the Journal of Legislative Studies.
